It really cools, but with most air conditioners it cycles between cooling and just blowing air. Temperature goes down to 60, and the air is really cold when it's cycling. It has a remote control which is super convenient if you're using this in your bedroom and dont want to get out of bed to adjust the temperature. The heater doesn’t exactly heat the whole room when it’s super cold out, but it definitely takes the chill out of the air and warms it sufficiently to make it possible to use the room in winter.
