My 20-year old shower was leaking out the shower head even after replacing the mixer cap (rotating valve). Then I bought this, the pressure balancing unit (PBU) and after replacing both, there are no leaks and it works better than new. Kohler will say that this PBU is not the solution to a leaky shower head, but it was for me. Watch the Kohler installation video and buy both this PBU and the temperature regulator and you will be good as new. The parts change out quickly and easily with simple tools. We already had two of these in existing showers. The showerhead is a great replacement if the existing showerhead needs to provide more pressure. This order was to replace an existing showerhead that gave less than the preferred pressure. Even after we did a bathroom remodel and installed a new showerhead (not this one), after a few weeks, I replaced it with one of these, and the pressure really improved.
