The 48” was exactly the right size for my bathroom area. I rotated the support poles so they were both coming from the ceiling. It is sturdy just not indestructible obviously. I really love this curtain rod. The hardware is stunning, the rod is sturdy, and relatively easy to install. Two reasons for 4 stars - I wish it came with extra hardware, we broke a few anchors tapping them into the ceiling. Also, the finials are slightly discolored.
