I’m giving this desk 4 stars because, while it is very spacious and offers plenty of room to work, I ran into several issues. I consider myself quite handy and enjoy putting furniture together, but the instructions were not the best. Additionally, one of the wooden planks arrived damaged. To make it fit my son’s bedroom layout, I had to reverse the configuration even though the desk isn’t designed to be reversible. Because of this, I had to place the angled plank upside down and couldn’t screw it into the metal frame however, this allowed the damaged part to face downward so it isnt noticeables. I was able to properly screw in the rectangular plank. While the metal frame is very sturdy and the desk provides a great amount of workspace, another downside is that fingerprints show up very easily on the wood. Originally, I was very hesitant on purchasing this desk because the tabletop is in 4 pieces. I was worried about whether the tops of each piece would be level to each other or if the gaps between the pieces would be uneven or wide. I would have to say, I am very happy with the outcome of this table. tabletop came as smooth as can be. Height range of adjustment on this table is amazing. It can go low enough for my 5 yr. old to work at or tall enough for a 6.5ft man to stand at. The tablet itself wasn't terrible to put together, but one thing that wasn't apparent is that the table top is in two different pieces. Now that wouldn't be an issue, but the smaller section of the desk does not sit evenly with the rest of the desk. There doesn't appear to be a fastener or anything to hold the pieces together, and sits lopsided. Even after adjusting the feet putting any weight on the small section makes it very apparent that they aren't fastened together. I ordered this desk in the Zebrano color and love it, it’s a nice design. I really like the Desk Return with File Cabinet because that makes it easy to keep the desk clean and store things out of sight. The built in outlets are convenient. This desk and return are heavy, definitely need 2 people to handle unboxing and assembly. Only giving 4 stars because the screw to connect the desk to the return was extremely difficult to get in place. Also, had a few issues from shipping where corners were dinged up and the desktop was scratched. These are mostly hidden from view due to the way I have the desk placed in a corner of my office.
