I’ve been using this iron for a few weeks now, and it’s honestly made ironing way less annoying. The soleplate glides really smoothly, even over thicker fabrics like jeans, and it doesn’t snag or stick. It heats up pretty fast, which is great when I’m in a rush. The steam is strong enough to get out stubborn wrinkles without having to go over the same spot ten times. I also like the pointed tip for getting around buttons and collars. Cleaning it is easy too. I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. My old Black Decker lasted 18 years and finally wouldn’t steam any longer. I looked in the local stores and they now are showing the newer models of irons with the very pointed front ends and not much area to iron on even in the middle of these irons. I checked Wayfair which is the place to go when you can’t locate the items anywhere else and sure enough they had this Black Decker Classic Iron. It is perfect, even better than my older model, good looking, easy to operate and to fill for steaming I could not locate it in any of the stores in my area but found it on Wayfair.
