I got this as an extra AC for my daughter's room. She likes her room colder than I do. Instead of cooling the entire house, I thought this would be a good idea. Additionally, I live in the deep south where we get hurricanes. We can lose power for days or weeks. I could hook this up to a generator under those conditions. I hope to never have to do that. The one thing I do not like at all is the spacer in the window. When you widen it horizontally, the insert ends up being not as wide and the other piece. This results in a gap. The instructions suggest using duct tape. I do not think so. I have added a piece of wood to raise that section but that is only a temporary solution. The window piece should really be an accordion style piece that can be expanded while keeping the same height. In my opinion, this is a design flaw. The other thing I am concerned about is condensation dripping on my wood floors. The instructions say to empty it every couple of days with a pipe tube. I will have to stay on top of this since it is in my daughter's room. Not sure I am thrilled about that. It does seem to cool well. So overall, I have mixed feelings about this portable AC.. Teri.
