Both the directions and holes predrilled were fairly easy to assemble. Due to the size it came in 3 sections but once the first was assembled it went much faster. We are pleased with armoire as far as the way it looks but the lack of the 5th star in the rating was simply due to the material in the outer pieces. We love how these look in our bedroom. The quality of the knobs is not great, and the fit of the pieces is a little wonky in spots - we had to prop up the top piece with a spacer so the bottom doors could open.
