I bought this because it was small and made of metal, not plastic. I discovered that the base is actually plastic, but is covered by the 'crumb tray'. I am really happy with this dehydrator. It’s a great size, won’t take up a bunch of counter space but still offers a bunch of space inside the dehydrator.
