I will give this a 4 because overall I like the appearance and the sturdiness of this rain barrel. However I had to make some alterations to this barrel to suit my needs. First of all the hose holder is insufficient as it is currently configured. It doesn't seat tightly in the hole provided and sometimes comes off when removing the hose. I cut off the 2 prongs on the back so the back was flat. I used a stainless-steel screw to attach it to the barrel. Problem solved, It works great. Second- The openings on the black top cover are a bit too large and will let more debris in than desired. I cut a piece of screen to fit over it and attached it with 6 four inch wire ties. Problem solved, It works great. Third- The nipple at the bottom of the barrel that the hose clamps too is rather small in diameter and a potential weak spot over time IMO. I cut it off, drilled a 1 and an eighth inch hole and replaced it with a bulkhead adapter to fit a standard garden hose. Works great. If you are somewhat handy all these are doable.. Louis. The good and the bad: The GOOD - 75 gallons, is sturdy, is attractive, basic design is excellent, excellent followup customer service. The BAD - product was shipped in a plastic bag allowing the spigot to be half-way torn away, spigot is lightweight. My solution: rather than exchange it for another with no guarantee it wouldn't be damaged during shipment I replaced the spigot and threaded section with a more substantial bulkhead union and a more robust spigot. At the rain collection area, a screened opening minimizes insect entry into the barrel while filtering debris from incoming water. An overflow socket, located at the top/back of the barrel, designates the direction of excess water to flow. It can be connected to a hose to divert overflow to a garden or distant runoff area. All colors shown in the pictures vary since each piece is created from used wine barrels and each one we get is different.
