We bought this mattress for our home and I slept on it for several nights to get a feel for it. It arrived tightly rolled in a box, and getting it upstairs was easier with two people. Once we cut the plastic, it started expanding right away and was pretty close to its full 12-inch height by the next day. There was no new-foam smell. The mattress feels supportive and doesn’t let you sink in too much. Even though it’s labeled medium, it feels more like medium-firm, especially at first. The foam has a bit of give around the shoulders and hips, while the springs keep everything feeling stable and lifted. One thing I noticed is that movement from side to side isn’t really noticeable to a partner, which is a nice bonus. The edges are decent for sitting, though not quite as firm as the middle. The hybrid construction also gives it a more substantial feel than I expected for the price. I also like that it sleeps fairly temperature-neutral. The cooling gel layer seems to help, especially compared to traditional memory foam mattresses that can trap heat. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that it was a little firmer than I initially expected, so it may take some time to break in depending on your preference.
