They are built to scale with high-grade wood such as: western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany. Our model was built according to scale through original plans, pictures and drawings. We absolutely use no plastic parts only the highest quality wood and metal parts. They are 100% hand built individually using plank-on-frame construction method and are similar to the building of actual ships. Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop. This is a fantastic model built from western red cedar and mahogany. The hull is varnished with multiple layers to give it a glossy look. Overall we really like this armoire. The mirror door can be a little tricky at times to open. But it gives a good amount of storage for our bedroom without a closet. I was VERY pleased with the quality of this furniture. Other cabinets I have purchased only had a colored cardboard back. These had stained plywood backing. Overall, this was excellent furniture at a reasonable price.
