I got this 14,000 BTU window AC for my workshop here in Florida, and honestly it’s been a lifesaver in the heat. This particular air conditioner was bought for the purpose of cooling a 300 square foot room. We have no window for the exhaust hose to be used which was fine with us. We were told that being a portable air conditioner, the hose didn't have to be used. After running the conditioner for more than 4 hours our room didn't cool off because the heat coming out the back of the conditioner through the exhaust connection was too much heat, thus the conditioner couldn't cool the room at all. But the flexibility, and relative ease (its still an air conditioner!) of taking it in and out of the window to only use when needed has been amazing. Its so quiet in my son's bedroom, but keeps him cool during his afternoon naps and has kept his room cold enough for the occasional too hot nights. I can turn it on and off with my phone so I don't have to go inside, and its so much quieter and cheaper to run than my old portable AC. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hello Frigidaire. I bought this unit along with the gallery window unit because I know that your Gallery units are quiet. Both are used in bedrooms - one needed to have the portable as it is an egress for fire dept. Anyway, in the past the portable units I bought from LG as well as De'Longhi ALL had a coupler to snap into place. This helps to keep the hose where it needs to be. Your unit even has the tabs to snap said coupler into the unit. BUT there was not one provided. Am thinking Frigidaire forgot this as opposed to thinking it was not needed. The hose does not attach to that base and could easily come out. I hate to duct tape it as it will definitely leave sticky residue and frankly when I pay this much for a unit, I expect it will have all connectors included.
