I was in search of a free standing tub that had completely straight/square sides versus the many that are sold with curves and angles. I needed this to fit in a corner without leaving spaces between the tub and wall that would either trap water or dust. This was the the one squared tub that I found within my price range, with others being 2-3 times as much for some reason, so I bought it in the only version available at the time (glossy gray). It's here now, I've opened the box to take a look and it is really beautiful and substantial while also being a foot shorter in length than the alcove tub it's replacing (space that I was eager to gain in a small bathroom). I'm really excited to get it installed and will be putting in a fixed glass panel on the non-wall end and a pivoting glass panel door along the exposed side since it will get the most use as a shower. The fluorescent lamp is clear, bright and cool to the touch and since it does not use as much energy as a traditional incandescent light bulb, it is providing this single mom and teacher with 25% - 35% energy savings. It is also long lasting - 10,000 hours+ - compared to a traditional incandescent bulb 800 to 1,500 hours. My only complaint is that fluorescent lighting includes a small amount of mercury liquid inside of it, which is converted into a mercury vapor when the lamp is turned on and can impose a small threat of mercury exposure to my family.. I have had this installed and in operation for about 6 months. The unit arrived undamaged and on schedule. The installation was ok but the mounting brackets of the unit are a little under designed. I added addition bracket to help secure the weight as it is not light. Be sure to consider that you need to plumb in venting that is at least 10" in diameter to carry the 900 cfm. Common places to use this siliconized acrylic latex unsanded caulk is against backsplashes in the kitchen, along bathtub surrounds, windows and more. The unsanded tends to be easier to clean because of its smooth surface.
