I was shocked at the amount of time it took to put together because I am a very experienced DIYer. It was least 15 hours for my husband & I to sort pieces and parts (some not marked) and put the desk together. It really looks great, I’m just not sure about the ergonomics for a professional manicurist like myself. The top is very high (clients are commenting) yet I cannot raise my chair because the lower shelf hits my legs. I’m am about 5ft 4in and a 120 pounds so it’s not a size thing. I had to drill a hole for the cords and the power strip popped like it could be defective so I am not using it. I do love the storage and the bottom shelf holds my dust collector when not in use.. These Hevea butcher block countertops were just what I wanted for my new office. They were well packaged and arrived without damage. A few coats of matte poly were easy to apply. Nice smooth edges too so no additional sanding needed. They were less than half the cost of what I could get through my local big box DIY store.
