Great shelf! Easy to install right into studs. One of the L-brackets was clearly less that 90° angle but it didn't actually make a difference. I hung it and everything is level. Although it’s not recommended to place it above a bed, I needed a shelf that wasn’t too heavy to install above my dresser and hold my projector. This mantel is created from medium-density fiberboard also known as MDF. MDF is a composite wood and is very commonly used for furniture, cabinetry, shelving, and decorative moldings. Mantel ships in 3 pieces; 2 legs and 1 header. The legs attach easily to the header with nuts and bolts. Mitered hanger board assembly is included for easy installation as well as a 3-piece mitered scribe molding set to hide any gaps after installation. This mantel has a 1 1/2" projection off of the wall leaving a nice pocket behind the mantel to accommodate your tile, stone, marble, etc. Paint grade only. It Comes painted white and is ready to hang or sand and prime and choose your color.

This beam is constructed out of ¾” thick Aspen wood and is 6 1/2" tall. You choose the length and depth. Each piece of wood is unique and will have more or less character/knots than the other. It is designed to look like a solid beam without weight. The distressed beams are painted either black or white and have the edges sanded over and a brown stain/wax applied for a distressed look. The distressed beams will not be a solid color. Easy to install utilizing a French cleat mounting bracket which is included. Screws are not included. You will need to purchase 3" screws for the application you will be attaching the bracket to. Wood is considered a combustible material. Heat clearances must be adhered to. If installing over a fireplace, check your local building codes and the manufacturer's instructions for your specific fireplace insert or stove.
