Light blocking is very good to keep out the sun rays without making it too dark in the room. Very easy to open and close. This is my second set and I love them. Works great and looks nice. I absolute love this fan and light. I appreciate the different settings. It doesn’t have those ugly pull down chains to turn it on and off, but uses a remote. I had an electrician put in a wall switch so I have options on how I control the unit. And in the future if I need to replace the fan and light I can put any kind of unit in that I choose.
