They move in just about EVERY direction and putting too much of your weight on them will make them go down without hitting the release button. It’s definitely easier to clean than fabric office chairs but someone got a drop of cleaner on the cushion and it appeared to permanently damage it. You have to be careful what you clean it with. If I could give 0 stars I would. Do not buy this item. For $400, the only thing this chair does is look nice. But the height adjustment is just a plastic pull lever that feels like its about to snap off, and it doesnt actually adjust the height. Also the mesh doesn't hold up the resistance.
