This chain door lock is constructed of stamped steel and comes in a select plated finish. It features a welded steel chain with all fasteners necessary for complete installation. This chain door lock can be used on a variety of door types. The smaller chain-holder base plate can be mounted on, or beside the door's casing, as it measures only 3/4 in. wide, by 2-3/8 in. tall, and the wider chain lock keeper measures 3-5/16 in. long with a height of 1-3/8 in. This chain door guard also works great as a child-safe security device which can help prevent little ones from fully opening doors and entering or exiting into dangerous and off-limit areas. This is a 7/8 in. tub and shower door nylon ball bearing roller with a flat edged wheel. It has a threaded hex head hub that uses an 8-32 x 3/8 in. long Phillips binder head machine screw to fasten it to the door bracket. Used on a variety of different tub and shower top roller systems. When engaged, a ball on the keeper interlocks with the bar lock and prevents an intruder from pushing their way through. We have improved upon the standard door guard design and added an innovative backup thumb turn security lock that blocks the release tool from disengaging the door guard latch. In cases of emergency, hotel security or emergency crews can pop the thumb turn off of the unit by applying approximately 100 pounds of force to the door. (Note that 100 pounds of force is much greater than a simple kick in, so the emergency release feature does not compromise your security.) Additionally, after the thumb turn lock breaks away, the unit still operates as a traditional swing bar door lock and a specially designed Anti-Lockout emergency access tool is required to swing the door guard out of place. To help prevent forced entry into your home, it is always a good idea to engage the backup thumb turn lock whenever you are not actively using your door.
