Layers of vanishes are applied; the hull is then smoothly sanded between coats to create a mirror effect. This model was built according to scale through original plans, pictures and drawings. For 1953, Castoldi decided to focus on setting top speed records. He commissioned an 800kg-class three-point hydroplane hull to be built by Cantieri Timossi, a hydroplane builder on Lake Como, near Milan… The hull was dubbed Arno XI. For the engine, he turned to the new up and comers of the auto racing scene – Scuderia Ferrari… On the morning of October 15, 1953, Achille Castoldi succeeded in smashing the 800kg class speed record with an average ''flying kilometer'' two-way speed of 150.49 mph. He followed up the performance later that day by setting another record in the ''24 nautical miles'' event with an average speed of 102.34 mph… Arno XI was restored in the early 1990s and was put up for auction at the Coy's Festival at Silverstone in 1997 where it did not sell. It was photographed skimming across the water as recently as September 2004, along with many other vintage racing boats...

It was originally going to have 90 guns, but King Charles I personally insisted that a ''great ship'' be built for the English Royal Navy, so it went to sea with 102 bronze guns. The vessel was the most extravagantly decorated warship in the Royal Navy, completely adorned from stern to bow with gilded carvings. The ship was later renamed Sovereign and then Royal Sovereign. It was destroyed by fire in 1697 in Chatham.

It was powerful enough to go up against the most formidable ships in the French and British navies. In 1705, the San Felipe and 11 other Spanish ships waged a furious and heroic battle against 35 British ships. After 24 hours of fighting, the San Felipe was captured but was so badly damaged that it could not be salvaged as a prize. It sank with several tons of gold.

The legend of Chris-Craft began in 1884, when Christopher Columbus Smith began the Smith Boat House on the St Clair River in Algonac, Michigan, to manufacture small duck boats and power launches. Later, the company was extended to Chris Smith and Sons Boat Co. Many of his larger runabouts were used as taxis; transporting guests on the riverfront to resorts, or to various sightseeing attractions. In the 1920s, mostly runabouts were produced, but with the introduction of his speed boats, Chris Smith's fame took off.

The M42 Command Truck is a member of the M-37 Dodge 3/4 ton 4x4 Truck Family (G-741). Its full nomenclature is Truck, Command, 3/4 ton 4x4, M-42. The Dodge M37 3/4-ton 4x4 truck (G741) was Dodge's follow-up to its successful WC Series from WWII. Introduced in 1951 it was used extensively by the United States armed forces during the Korean War. The Vintage Dodge M42 Command Model Truck is only slightly different from the base model M37 cargo truck. They are not manufactured as a separate model; rather the M42 Command Truck is created by modifying an M37 with the installation of a conversion kit. The M42 conversion kit consists of replacing the standard M37 canvas with these M42 components: Bodyside curtains with windows; split rear end curtains; map light; folding table; the regular canvas tarp was rolled up on the sides, secured with leather straps, to expose the side curtains; the window panels were made of a non-reflecting plastic material; sources differ on the provision of an entry step ladder for the M42 Command Truck. When the M42 kit is installed, an M42 data plate is added to the M37 dash. Trucks configured as the M42 Command Truck were also converted back to the M37 configuration. According to TM 9-8031-2 Change 3 dated 29 January 1968, all references to the M42 Command Truck in the manual were deleted.

This collection is usually focused around steam-powered machinery. The ship does not have much color. The main colors used a faint orange and yellow and brown. The minimal color is a part of this theme. This model has little details sprinkled within it as well like the crow’s nest on its mast. The little features help make this model that much more unique.
