My two kitties love their new space! We have two 9 months old kitties that we rescued when they were 3 12 weeks old. They are indoor cats but we wanted to give them a safe sanctuary when are not home. I put the structure together myself and it probably would have gone quicker if I had help but I took my time and the instructions were easy enough to follow. The wood is strong enough for indoor but I don’t think it would last long outside in the elements. I didn’t use the roofing material that came with it since I have it inside the house. This gate is perfect and has features I didn’t even know I needed! I originally bought a pet gate from another site, that just had the bars, and no plexiglass. Unfortunately, my cat kept trying to shove his face through, and I was worried about him hurting himself. The latch could also be opened if he were to jump up and pull down on it, and the gate had a lot of play in the middle, so it would wobble back and forth. I returned it and got this gate. It took care of all of the issues I had regarding the first one! No more fear of my cat trying to push his face through the bars, the latch is cat proof, and it is much more stable! I didn’t even have to add the bonus hardware half way up to add to the stability. I also love the added feature of the door swinging both ways, as it makes it easier to keep my cat back who tries to get out at times when I am coming through the gate. Great catio but takes forever to put together. Had a very strong smell when we took the various parts out of the box but the smell has gone away now that we've placed it outside. Love this! Debated about the purchase for a while, but finally went for it, and my cats are in love. Its sturdy and assembly instructions are straight forward. Plenty of room for both of my large cats (about 12-14 lbs each). I added some finer screening around it to keep bugs out (just stapled it to the frame) and created a wood frame that fits inside my window so it can be secured without attaching it to the exterior of my house.
