I purchased this several years ago to use when I had my ceiling fan replaced. When taking down the older fan, it had a wider base and the replacement left a less then pleasing cover. Went looking for something that was lightweight and wouldn't require taking down the newly installed ceiling fan. This medallion fit the bill! Easy to install and fits together nicely. Very happy with this ceiling medallion. The light fixture I had originally ordered for the room felt too small and this gave it the dimension in the room that was missing. Pretty simple to install. Nice piece, but it's really more of an institutional item and assumes that you are replacing an existing urinal or have framing in place to accommodate an install. Installing this in a dry-walled garage, for instance, will take some doing including cutting away drywall and add 2x4 supports.
