Now this is a heavy umbrella base! Someone said “get the heaviest one you can find”. My husband was not happy with me but that umbrella does not move in this base! I love the simplicity and low profile of this patio umbrella base stand! It says it’s 40 lbs. but it feels much heavier than that! It was extremely easy to assemble, five minutes! I’ve had my umbrella opened since I installed it and we’ve had rain and wind for the past week and this umbrella has not wavered or moved an inch! I’m in the process of finding a new outdoor table with an umbrella hole, and I have no worries that this base will keep the umbrella steady. I like the fact that it come with several hole adjustments for various size poles. I had to use the 1.5 inch hole tube. Update, have a new table with the umbrella hole. This is by far the best market umbrella I’ve ever owned. I opted for the sunbrella fabric as it’s heavier than the other fabrics I’ve owned in the past (and did not last as long).This umbrella has a bronze colored pole and is operated by a hand crank although it does have an auto tilt feature. The auto tilt is amazing as you slowly keep cranking after the umbrella is fully extended, the auto tilt engages and the umbrella will automatically tilt. Once you start cranking in the opposite direction to close the umbrella, the auto tilt disengages and the umbrella stands upright so you can finish closing it. This is a nice umbrella stand and looks great. My only issue was that I underestimated how much weight I needed for my umbrella, so I use sandbags for extra stability.
