nicely made polystyrene pieces which are well designed, but require an expert carpenter for a quality installation due to slight variations from piece to piece, injected molded from similar but not identical molds. Per my carpenter, these were convenient, but required a tremendous of finesse and adjustments at every miter joint to look right. Quality glue (PL Premium) and a solid substrate that will not move (a grid of 1x3's glued and screwed to ceiling joists) are essential for stability. Overall "a wash" in terms of time and expense compared to having full boxes and mouldings constructed the old fashioned way. For the curved bay windows straight pieces needed to be hollowed out, bent, and carefully glued and tacked in place under high tension. Really added that final touch to the new light we installed and it helped cover the old electrical box location that was not centered to the table. Make sure to add some blocks of wood behind the empty parts of the medallion so as to not crush it when tightening down the fixture. Also light sand before painting to help the paint adhere.. James.
