I'm a little concerned that the bottom of the mattress protector isn't made of the same material as the top of the protector. It feels like regular mesh that wouldn't keep in/out mites like the Allerease brand cover I purchased for my mattress. However, I needed an inexpensive solution to cover couch cushions (2nd hand from a dog owner and located in the basement for several years). I could get 2 twin size covers for half the price of the other brand and for a quarter of the price as a allergen/pest cover made specifically for sofas. the XL twin size fits all three top or bottom cushions inside with room. It doesn't need to be aesthetically pleasing since company doesn't come down here. I throw a removable sofa cover on top so that I don't have to see it and to cut down on washes. Despite my concern about the bottom mesh, I do notice that I'm breathing more comfortably when I sit on the couch so it must be working for the most part to keep allergens locked away.. Christen.
