This is a very sturdy and attractive crib. When I opened the box, all the hardware had come loose from its container. It was very hard to find all the little screws and washers that had fallen to the bottom and were wedged under the cardboard. There was styrofoam EVERYWHERE by the time I was done searching. Do yourself a favor and Google the instructions on a tablet so you can enlarge them. They are attached to the mattress board which makes them hard to access and read. You really should have 2 people working on putting this together so one person can help hold it in place while the other screws in the bolts. Thankfully all the holes lined up properly. It seems like it might be a hassle to keep switching it from a crib to a playpen. The listing said there was no mattress, but there was a very thin one which I replaced.. Anna. Franklin Lakes, NJ. The directions indicate that a screw driver is needed, however everything needed to assemble is included in the package. On the website it says the mattress is not included, however this is one.
