This is such an upgrade from our 10,000 BTU portable air conditioner. We purchased this Danby because our old a/c unit started blowing hot air. After checking to see if it needed draining, filter cleaning, checking the hose for blockages, etc., we realized it was likely not worth trying to get it repaired. We've bought Danby products before but never a/c units. So far, it's doing a great job. We have it set up in our living room, which counts as two rooms if we were to carpet it and so far, it's keeping the space nice and cool. We live in an apartment, so this works really well. The true test will be how it lasts during some of the summer's longer heat waves, but as we're experiencing mini heat waves right now (that last maybe 2-3 days), I'm happy to say that it's doing a decent job. Oh, and it's super quiet. Our other a/c unit that we have in the bedroom runs a lot louder than this one and is maybe only a year old. Love my new sink!! The reason why I give it 4 stars vs 5 is because of the mounting clips. Need a good amount of space to fit them in the notches (I ended up bending the latch part [not sure how else to refer to it] so that I could reach up and place it in the notch rather than having to angle it a bit to get it in the notch). Then when tightening them, the ledge needs a good amount of space granted my kitchen counters are old (plan to replace them eventually), and a prior owner really rigged alot of stuff, but it just made it challenging to get the mounting clips fastened, somewhat fastened.
