I have never had a batch disposal before. I have always had the traditional ones that require a switch to turn on. The only real issue (and its not much of one) is with how our sink is in the kitchen island there isn't a good spot to set the plunger when not in use other than in the sink itself. It is powerful and I am really happy how well it does its job. There is no flap that covers the opening to the drain like on traditional disposals. I thought this would be an issue having it open and silverware falling in. With our drain off to the right it really has not been a problem. Although I did have a fork fall into it the fact that the disposals "neck" between the sink and the bottom is long so the fork never fully fell into the disposal it just stood straight up. Also not having that flap covering the disposal makes it much easier to see at a glance if anything has made its way in that should be there. It is noisy but not bad, just as I expected as from traditional. I like the safety of it not turning on unless the plunger is in. We have young kiddos. Just makes me feel better. This is a nice faucet and has the look we were going for in this bathroom. I removed a star because my clients complained that there was a loud squeak when turning one of the levers. It was easily fixed but required taking it apart to lubricate and it's strange to have to do that with a new item. Otherwise, it's a nicely made product that feels good to use and I would recommend.. This faucet is lovely in person and heavy duty. The reason for 4 vs 5 stars is the finish isn't quite as rich in person as it is online. I returned another brand for the same reason. I'm keeping this one but not quite what is portrayed. Online shades are difficult in general. However, as someone who purchases lots of faucets for clients, I am seeing more often the color is being enhanced for the online photo making it difficult to match finishes.
