I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. I purchased the Shark FlexBreeze fan in 2024 with my own money, and it has exceeded my expectations. My husband had gone through three fans in 10 years, and shortly after I bought this fan (for myself), fan #3 quit working. He ended up taking over my FlexBreeze, and despite being skeptical at first because it was much smaller and a little bit quieter than his previous fans, he quickly became a huge fan of it (pun intended)! Do not let the size of this fan fool you, it provides excellent airflow and is surprisingly powerful. The stand offers more flexibility than the pedestal fans we grew up with, allowing you tilt the head in just the right direction. The heavy base also keeps it stable, which is important in our house with dogs running around. The standout feature for us is the built-in battery. We live in a rural area where power outages happen, and we are pretty dependent on having our fan on to sleep. The battery allows the fan to run on a low to medium setting, giving us enough airflow and white noise to comfortably fall asleep. It has seriously been a lifesaver for us. Another feature I really like is its versatility. The fan can be removed from its base and be used as a smaller portable fan, making it easy to pack for vacations and trips so you don’t have to sleep without your fan. Our model came with the CoolMist attachment and a car charger. This fan also features a remote. While we have not used the misting feature or car charger yet, I do appreciate those options. We also do not use the remote very often, but it is nice to have when needed. My husband works swing shift, so this fan gets a lot of use since we both sleep with it. The previous fans we purchased were much cheaper, so I wanted to see how well this held up before reviewing it. After almost 2 years of heavy use, it is still working great. At some point, we actually plan to purchase another one for our son, and I would also like one for myself again… or maybe convince my husband to give mine back! I picked this color specifically for me, after all, which I adore. We own many Shark/Ninja products and have consistently had great experiences with them, and this fan is no exception. I'm really enjoying this so far. I've got it working with SmartThings which means it's working (okay) with Google Home. All five of my RF fans work with this device. I would say signal is sent to those devices correctly 95% of the time. I have found that if I accidentally misclick, it is better if I count to 10 before making the correct choice. Is it perfect? No. But it is extremely helpful. These are things I was ready for, but some other buyers might not be ready for. This is an RF controlling device. While it makes some devices a little easier to use it does not make those devices "smart". If you have someone who likes to use the remotes a lot, the app will show incorrect settings for those devices that have changed with the remote. This does not bug me, but for someone who is not ready for that, make sure you understand what this device is first. I highly recommend Bond. This is an affordable way to use what you already have. Less devices in the landfill for replacements, and a pretty great way to control my devices from my phone.
