These waterproof tiles have been a great purchase! We needed waterproof ceiling tiles and were not able to find them locally at the hardware stores. These are installed in a drop ceiling covering the ac unit to our unit. These tiles have been sturdy and held up to moving frequently to access the A/C unit for repairs and filter changes. As much as we would like to let them free range we have already lost 3 of our 28 chickens to hawk attacks. Becuase of this I built a secure pen around their coop that does a great job of protecting them but they needed more space. We purchased this enclosure to give our girls a confined area to run in that gives them access to lots of grass and bugs. It is a good compromise to let them forage and still be protected. Assembly of the frame was easy with no issues at all. The frame itself seems sturdy enough and I dont expect any issues with it over time. While probably not recommended installed this on a slope and attached the enclosure to the protected area I had previously built with brackets. Access to it is allowed via an electric door. The mesh that comes with this looks nice with its green coating but it is VERY thin. Because of this I chose to use thicker chicken wire for the bottom portions, which I me purchased at a well known farm store. Our girls are only out in the enclosure during the daytime hours so hopefully upgrading the chicken wire will keep any critters on the ground from getting to them. I did use the green mesh that comes with the enclosure for the roof area. This should be more than enough to deter any hawks from trying for a chicken dinner. While not really a complaint the door assembly is not very tall. There is easily enough room that the company could have added another 4 or 5 inches in height to the door but for whatever reason they chose not to. My wife is fine with it but I am 6 2 and must always duck before stepping inside. If I dont the metal frame is a good reminder for next time. Ouch! I may redo the door at some point to add some height. Our girls have been enjoying their new playground for a several weeks now. Overall we feel it was a good purchase and so do they. Even if you just used the frame alone and bought all new fencing it would still be worth the cost. I did take off one star though for the included thin chicken wire and the door height. UPDATE The included tarp that goes over one section of the coop for shadeprotection from weather has torn after only 1 months of use. We had wondered if it would make it through a winter here in PA but it didnt even last that long to find out. The rest of the chicken run has held up so far though.. Brenda. Shirleysburg, PA. These were exactly what our dated basement ceiling needed. Our space looks amazing and so fresh now! We painted our existing ceiling grid and then installed the new tiles in black. Overall, the tiles showed up in good condition. Some corners where a little damaged, but you just pick out the good ones for full tiles and use the damaged ones for the edges, where you have to cut them. A few tips from our experience: - Open all tiles and sort by the good full tiles and the slightly damaged ones for the cut pile. - Wear gloves when handling. the black will come off on your hands (washes off), but your skin oils may leave marks on the tiles so best to wear gloves. - I tried wiping tiles off with a damp clothe but it left subtle marks, so I would NOT suggest this. I would suggest using dry cloth first to clear off dust marks. I have not done it yet, but I plan to get paint to match and do some touch up. Looks awesome! Easy to glue up with Loctite Power Grab HD adhesive (not the clear one) after I scuffed the paint with some 160 grit sandpaper. I overlapped the flat edges and used some panel nails at each corner, since you have four that overlap, if you do it that way. A little trim mounding around the edges finished it off nicely.. Tony.
