This is a well-made and attractive cherry wood table with a soft matte finish. I am using it as a console table behind my sofa. It comes in different lengths so I could get the right size for my sofa. I understand it is intended as a desk, and I expected the notch for cords at the back of the tabletop. This was clear from the photos. But I did not expect a placket affixed to the right-hand side with multiple outlets and a dangling cord to plug into a wall outlet. This was not shown in the photos or mentioned in the description and it detracts from the clean lines of the piece. It's not removable, so I had to duct-tape the cord to the underside of the table.
