It is hung with the 20 chain. For perspective, we replaced a 20 year old pile rubbed bronze fixture that was 18 in diameter. I had concerns the new light may over power the space but the scale worked out beautifully in the end. The only concern was the instructions. The chandelier is absolutely stunning. I was very impressed with the beauty, quality, and detail. The gold is a gorgeous color and looks stunning in our formal dining room. It has a very unique and high end feel and completes the room nicely. The light features 12 bulbs which my husband put on a dimmer switch for me. The glass crystals have a very nice modern look.
