Other reviewers are right: you can see through this lampshade slightly. Not to the very light bulb. But the fabric appears textured. I like it. I didn't love the way it screwed on at first. Only one problem, careful putting in the rubber adapter. If you push to hard it will drop inside the bottle. Getting it out was a pain! I used a press myself.
