On her toes, this lovely Victorian girl is picking golden apples and filling her basket with the ripe fruit. In this oil painting Coleman features detailed elements with a backdrop of a bright blue sea, the rich red velvet of her skirt is echoed in the red poppies and the gnarled wood of the old tree bearing the ripe fruits of life.
