My condo has french doors in the living room and one bedroom. Even with blinds, the east morning sun heats up the entire unit, taking it all day to cool down. I have been able to lower my thermostat an average of about 2-3 degrees during the day since applying the film and I no longer have to keep the blinds closed tight all day. Surprisingly, it didnt make my room seem dark. The photo above shows the doors with film on the right side only and you can see it doesnt darken the room much. I love the colors on this product. When I installed it, I used soapy water to help hold it in place. It is a heavier film than what I have used on a separate window. When I put it in place, I had to tape the top into place, and the bottom of the film curled. I surrendered in fatigue, but by the next afternoon, my springtime sunshine had warmed up the film considerably so that the tape no longer needed to hold the top in place, and the bottom had uncurled and clung appropriately to the base of the window. I have two more windows which I need to do, and I will probably follow the same practice of either warming the film gently before using, or taping in place and allowing the next day’s sunshine to warm it up and soften it.. Just what I was looking for! I spilled acetone on my desk and it schlept the paint off the surface and looked downright bad. I sanded the surface by hand and used it to cover up my desks surface and honestly, it looks better than it did when I bought it. I may use it in other places in the room as an accent! I love it! I couldn't afford the 1,300 initial budget of hiring someone to put in the ceramic tile I originally desired so I bought a 29.00 glass and tile cutter and five boxes of this glass tile and did the job myself.
