I have a lot of high- end knives and was debating on pulling the trigger on a Yani since I'm not a sushi chef or a pro but I've been mesmerized by this knife for a couple years. I'm so happy I got it, it's a work of art! I've used it to fillet a few fish I've caught and for slicing roasts and steaks, haven't noticed it " steering" me due to single bevel, it's so sharp and has perfect weight. Not a laser like a Yu so I've got more confidence if I'm cutting a rib roast or something with a bone-in. Beautiful work of functional art. Haven't had to sharpen yet but will definately do it myself, I'm confident in my ability to sharpen and not scratch it. It is one fine tool. BTW, it's not my most expensive knife. I give a 5 stars for this 5” serrated utility knife because it’s well made and sturdy. Meanwhile it is not a knife “go to “ for me because the distance between the teeth are too wide. I tried cutting veggies with it and l don’t like how it cuts or slice them. But I know if the serrated teeth were closer it would be useful to me. This chef's knife has been a great addition to my kitchen. Shipping was quick, though simply package. I've used it for slicing vegetables, fruits, and meats, and it cuts smoothly with very little effort. The non-slip handle feels comfortable and secure, even during longer meal prep. I also like that it comes with a protective sheath, making it easy and safe to store in a drawer. The knife feels sturdy, well-balanced, and has held its edge well after multiple uses.
