This product is harder to find, it did come in dirty so had to hand clean each unit, 3 out of the 50 units per defective and the magnet that came with the product is not retail user friendly. I had a spare one with handle and it worked so much better. The basic brick style magnet took some play to get unit to unlock. It does the trick but overall quality not as good as I expected. In cases of emergency, hotel security or emergency crews can pop the thumb turn off of the unit by applying approximately 100 pounds of force to the door. The locksmith came to install the lock and we discovered that two of the four batteries that came with the unit were dead. I called Wayfair's great customer service folks, who are sending out four fresh batteries. Normally this would not be an issue but I have never seen these batteries before. They are CR 123A 3V lithium batteries. In researching these, the internet says the batteries should have a 10-year shelf life, I don't know why they would be dead. The lock seems sturdy and very well made. I have three other keypad locks that take AA batteries and I am constantly replacing them. When I get power on the lock I will update my review.. Brenda. There were no specifications with the item description so I was hoping it would be a universal fit for my vinyl double hung windows. However, it is not universal. The spacing of the screw holes are narrower than my existing window sash locks, and the back plate is too deep for my windows — this will not fit properly. I’d give 4 stars if the specifications were listed. This will probably work if you have a different window size or a wooden double hung that doesn’t have an existing lock. I wanted something with additional security. I’m keeping this in the original packaging as this will be donated since I can’t use it.
