I finally broke down and invested in a better vacuum. This thing is amazing! Mostly hard flooring and its highest setting picks up everything- doesn’t blow it around. Lower settings handle even my flat washable rugs and don’t suck them up. The real test? I accidentally sucked up a metal door stopper that had broken and I immediately stopped the machine and took it apart to find the piece. Found it…in the bag. I love this little machine. Picks up real well one button press and you have your hand vac. Keep in mind this is not a full size vacuum cleaner it is an auto broom. The cup is small but powerful. Sometimes it falls over when I tug it, or gets tangled in its cord--and its cord could be longer, and it has a tough time with the thick shag carpet in the bedroom, but, this vacuum has agility and willingly moves forward, quietly sucking up the stuff.
