A french cleat hanging system is a popular method for securely mounting objects, such as mirrors, cabinets, shelves, and other wall-mounted fixtures. The system consists of two interlocking cleats. When hanging simply lower the object onto the cleat on the wall allowing the beveled edges to interlock.
