As Ellen Ehk Åkesson was asked to create an art object in honor of Ulrica Hydman Vallien's artistry, the magnificent Ticka was born. The object became part of Kosta Boda's 2021 tribute collection to the late Hydman Vallien. Ticka, available in a limited edition of 100 pieces, is a vessel from Ellen’s own imagination based on the same shape as Ulrica’s “snake bowl”. “I wanted to make something of my own, but with a connection to Ulrica’s art. For the tribute collection, I was inspired by the directness of her approach and style. The vessel symbolizes a tree trunk. I brought them in and pulled them out of the box and was very surprised and pleased at the weight and quality of these brackets. We had spent a lot of money on a large under mount hand hammered copper metal sink and i was concerned about the weight of the sink being carried by just the cabinet. i found these online and took a shot at them. very stout piece of metal and nice construction.
