First off this is an amazing handshower. The powder rain is one of her softest rain shower experiences I have ever had. The design is gorgeous. And the fact that you can change the shower pulse type with a touch of a button is incredibly convenient and somehow they made the button press incredibly satisfying. “But why only four stars!!” You might be asking… Well, hansgrohe like so many others, has gone all plastic. The weight of this unit is nothing substantial and is kind of disappointing. However I trust hansgrohe, as I have a shower head and thermostatic control that has lasted 16 years with no issue. We had this system installed in our remodeled bathroom in September 2023. For the most part, it has worked beautifully and we've been ecstatic with it. However, it is not without issues. It has to be re-paired with Amazon Alexa every 3 months, unlike every other Alexa skill out there. Why? Who knows. Because Kohler says so, I guess. Lately it has been needing to be re-paired every 2 weeks (today was the 3rd time). Also today it said there's a firmware update, but when I go to update I get a message that the shower is offline and I need to check the wifi connection. How? There's no wifi settings on the shower setup or in the app, or in my Kohler account anywhere. There is an Advanced/Locked section of settings that requires a PIN on the in-shower control and I have no idea what the PIN is or how to find it; we didn't set it and we can't get into these settings.
