We purchased this for a new home build that had a slide in range in an island. We did not want an exhaust hood that hung down from the ceiling and this one was perfect for a flush mount in the ceiling. It was priced considerably less than other brands that had white glass finishes. There are a couple discoveries we made however. It did not turn on once the power was brought to the new build. We called Awoco and were told to check in the black box under the stainless grill, for a white connection that sometimes is disconnected. That solved the problem and the unit lit up and worked with the remote and the voice commands. Customer service was very helpful and seemed to know exactly what to look for. There is one other thing to be aware of with the voice command, occasionally it picks up what it believes to be a request for action and starts talking, asking for directions. We thought we were hearing voices until we realized it was the exhaust fan talking. This is the perfectly sized LED outdoor light fixture for us. I have taken various shots for you so you have an idea of scale and appearance. It is elegant and understated at the same time, which is what we wanted given that the fixture needed to be right next to an awning, and located in a rather narrow piece of wall as you will observe. It provides beautiful up and down lighting. We wanted a good amount (not glaring) light for ease of access in/out of that door, and wanted to add a bit of interest at that location by incorporating the contemporary (or modern if you will) feature of up/down lighting. We needed something which would not fight our other outdoor fixtures, so this is the perfect fit. If we had a totally contemporary or modern home, I would probably order this for the entire home. The look of the outside of our home is Mediterranean so all of outside has that flare, which is why this particular fixture had to just do its thing as it blended in with the black and white stripped awning, as it also brought in a focal point of interest at that otherwise boring location. It did all of that! Now, this is the replacement light. The first one which came in was installed (as this one) by our electrician. It become hot almost immediately and after not even an hour, I had to turn it off as it was so hot we could hardly touch it and it made the awning very hot. I immediately reported it to Wayfair and they handled it directly with WAC. They sent me this replacement which is perfect. That is why I gave them the full 5 stars. It's not just the product, it was what happened when the one in a million doesn't work well, how they handled that situation. They told me I could keep or pitch the hot one yet I am going to pitch it as there is no way I could use it nor give it to anyone. Again, the replacement is perfect, does not get hot, gives wonderful light as you can see, is a beautiful shade of black, blends well with various styles and could stand beautifully alone if it had to, and I am beyond happy with it. This range hood is high quality. I bought a cheaper version a few years ago for my old house. I liked it, but now that I have this I can see where the cheaper one was lacking. This range hood is thicker steel that wont dent as easily. The oil tray is steel, the baffle filters feel commercial grade, the large duct size really moves a lot of air. I am glad I spent the money. Its loud but quieter than the old one. Relatively quiet for the amount of air it moves. The instructions are good, mounting is easy and secure. We've had this for about a year now and I have no complaints. If I could do it again, I would just get the basic version without the ledge for the accessories. These look nice enough. They were horribly expensive for what they are though. My electrician said they were a pain to install. And while they look okay, I thought they would look even better than they do. Mounting over siding they don't really sit flush, so that should have been something I considered before purchasing. Horizon 6.5" 3000K LED Downlight with Polycarbonate White Diffuser in White Finish. This commercial grade downlight is ideal for new construction when specified with a 4" x 2 1/8" square or octagonal J box. It is also conveniently UL Listed for wet conditions only indoor wet locations such as above a shower. For exterior they would need to be installed in damp location such as a covered porch, soffit, etc.. A place where the fixtures would not receive direct saturation.

Honestly I haven’t had the chance to install this yet but I have several friends that have used these before and it didn’t seem to be difficult.
