It’s sturdy enough that I am able to lay in the top bunk with my 11yr old and it holds up great, my husband is 300lb and lays on the bottom bunk with our 9yr old with no issues! Very solid! And we love the pull out trundle twin size bed for when they have their cousins or friends over! We currently have our nugget play couch on the trundle rather than a mattress, but will be getting a mattress for it. The only complaint I have is that it came with absolutely no extra hardware incase a piece is broken or gets lost during set up, not a single extra bolt, screw or wooden dowel, but otherwise we are very happy with this purchase!!. This bed is quality! The hardware is premium, all wood pieces are perfect, all clearly labeled with very detailed instructions. It came in 3 boxes, neatly wrapped, weighing 89 lbs each. This is great. It’s definitely a 2-person assembly, and I say that even though I normally still put things together myself (the top bunk has to be lifted onto the bottom). Probably better for kids because under adult weight there’s a slight wobble as you climb to the top bunk but it’s still sturdy enough for adults to sleep on. Big time space saver.
