Very pleased with this bed! I tried to jam it hard into a corner to add as much support as possible. My husband and I also double checked all the connections, but you can feel the pressure on the ladder as you climb up to the top. This bothers me a little, but she is still small enough. It might be a bigger issue for a teenager. For me, it is a notable issue, so I'll place this piece at a 4 star. However, overall, the piece does the trick on space saving with a desk included. I LOVE THIS BED! The quality is great and very sturdy. Inwas very surprised at how well the wood feels and is very sturdy. A simple twin mattress is enough. There is not enough room for a double or thick style twin bed on top. A queen air mattress fits underneath, so a double would definetly fit. Having 2 people to build it is the best way. Directions were great and all parts are supplied. I would advise to have a better hex/allen wrench set as the included one is not the greatest quality.
