We ordered 2. One box was poorly taped and had a missing piece. The other we assembled. Make sure you pay attention to where the final pieces go as you start out. We needed to flip over some pieces at the end. The metal is flimsy but I think it will work well. The edges were bent in shipping and we had to pound them down before the screws would fit. The black paint was scratched but it looked fine once we buried it 6 inches into the ground. It looks nice and is a size where we can effectively tame some raspberries. This is a very substantial planter box. It is made of manufactured wood and quite heavy. I got the 4 ft.² model and it’s lovely. The weight of the package when it arrives is about 35 pounds for the 4 ft.² piece. Side pieces are a little over 10 inches high, which makes plenty of depth for planting vegetables or flowers. I can’t wait to get this planted, it’s going to look beautiful. It’s made very substantially and I expect it to hold up for a very long time very pleased with it. Overall, worth the purchase. Putting these together? Let’s just say it counted as my workout for the week… and assembling metal garden beds is definitely not my preferred form of cardio. At first, I’ll be honest, they felt a little flimsy during assembly, and I had my doubts. They’re not built hefty like super thick industrial steel, but surprisingly, they are absolutely built sturdy. Case in point: we took down four trees, and a decent-sized branch smacked directly into the side of one of these beds and barely left a dent. That alone changed my opinion. Now that they’re up, filled, and doing their job, I’m happy with the purchase. While I’m not necessarily complaining about the price, I would definitely suggest waiting for a better deal.
