I needed a fan for my loft that would help circulate the air for efficiency in heating and cooling. But, I don't really like the look of most ceiling fans and didn't need to have lights in it. So, I ordered this with reservations because it is so expensive. However, it really looks nice, is well balanced so it doesn't wobble one bit, and it is absolutely silent when it's on. My electrician said it's very good quality, was straight forward to install, and has a good motor. There is a remote control I can use to regulate speed and direction, which comes with a holder that can be installed on the wall next to the switch so it is less likely to get lost. We looked around for a long time to find this fan! I purchased this fan for my family room. It arrived well packed and quickly. It's been fantastic! I love this fan for it's looks more than any other fan in our home. It's just beautiful, not an eye sore like some fans can be. Transitional, modern, clean. I like the white, it disappears into the ceiling. The gold is a nice touch. It can go in almost any style of room. It elegantly updated my family room. Minka Aire moves the air around well and we really can't even hear it other than the soft sound of air moving. The remote makes it convenient to use and has a lot of nice features. The light is nice although we also have 4 can lights because the ceiling is tall and it was needed due to the size of the room and ceiling height. Starting with the positives, I think the fan itself looks great and seems to operate fine. The main negative I had was the assembly. Im a DIY guy and Ive done just about every type of work under my roof. This was a small challenge to assemble because the instructions were not always clear and the many many parts are not labeled. I watched a video on a different fan installation just to confirm I was doing things correctly. Another negative is that the wall switch is a bit outdated looking. And someone please tell me why a wall switch that is hardwired with electricity also needs a battery inside of it Its not a backup because it doesnt work without it. Lastly, I think the site image is misleading because it shows a very long downrod.
