This is the best shoe rack!!! It’s so easy to put together - it comes in about 5 pieces and doesn’t take more than 5-10 min to assemble. It’s packed really well. The solid wood legs have a mid-century feel. This can be used with the thick mat inserts, or without them as a plastic shoe tray. It came together easily. The assembly was tricky but not impossible and I was able to complete this with 6 year old and toddler aged "helpers". My husband's size 11 sneakers fit fine as well as my kids' shoes. I think a lot of the negative reviews are due to assembly error. It did seem like we didn't have enough of a certain type of screw, but we had too much of a similar one so I just used those and it came together fine. I'm not sure if I messed up or they did. All in all I'm really happy with it. The kids are excited to use it and it's cleaned up our entry area nicely. The only assembly tip I would give it to put the brackets for wall mounting it when you're assembling it in the beginning and not as a last step. Screwing this into the wall seems like an essential step even if you don't have a toddler because it's so top heavy, but they have wall mounting as a final step. It would have been a lot easier to place the bracket on the board before the board it goes on is attached to the main body, than to do it as a last step before bolting to the wall. Easy to follow instructions. Took maybe an hour to assemble. Sturdy. I didn’t fasten to the wall. The back is open but it has a piece to brace the frame and make it more sturdy. I only added the separator to the one of the doors so. For reference, top pairs are women size 7.5 and kid’s size 1. The bottom is men size 10.5 and 11.
