They came together in 1 box (both stools) in 2 parts each and were packed well and the bottom metal legs were wrapped really well!! My husband secured the seats to the bottom with no problems. I really like the “tufting” of the faux leather. I wish the back of seat was maybe an inch or 2 higher, but these chairs had the look I wanted. They are comfortable to sit on. And very beautiful. Our service pro James, communicated well prior to the appointment (even seeing if we were available earlier than scheduled, which worked well!). He was prompt, neat and knew exactly how to assemble the stools and was done in about 30 minutes. He cleaned up and removed the box and packing materials.
