These are attractive outdoor lanterns with solar powered light. There is an on/off switch at the top in case you just want them off for a while. Although I love the look of the lights, there is one problem for me. They are very light weight. My postal scale shows each weights just over 11 oz. As breezy as it can get where I live, I cannot leave them outdoors. They would blow away! I can only bring them out when I am using them and it is not a breezy/windy day. I was thinking I might be able to open the tops and add a few heavy rocks inside, but I am unable to open the top. That is actually where the little solar panel is and I suspect they don't want anyone messing with that area. You could possibly bury the bottom base in the dirt and then leave them outside, but I have not tried that yet. I'm waiting to make sure we don't get more snow!
