As a mom of boys, I’ve purchased and assembled several bunk beds over the years to know that these are my favorites to date. I was able to put the bunks together in an hour by myself without any issues. The bunk is sturdy, and I have no concerns about stability or the bed slats coming out, as they snap into place. The attached ladder doesn't take up floor space or block access to the bottom bunk. The height of the bottom bunk not only prevents anyone from bumping their head but also gives my boys a lounge space to read or watch TV. My only complaints are that I wish the upper side rails were higher since current mattresses are not thin, so our mattress sits flush with the rail. We use a pool noodle under the sheet along the rail for extra peace of mind. If your mattress is on the thinner side, you won’t have any issues. The second is that I wish the clearance underneath was just an inch or two taller, as it wouldn’t impact the bottom bunk and would allow larger totes to be stored under the bed. My three kiddos are super excited about their new bunkbed! It took my husband, son, and I three hours to put it together but the pictures in the directions were straight forward. We did have to take two parts apart and reassemble them as I missed the direction they had to be facing in order to attach pieces in later steps. I put a soft bath math with a grippy bottom at the foot of the ladder and tucked it under the mattresses on either side to prevent direct falls onto the lower bedframes. The storage space on the top bunk is great for storing a good amount of toys and stuffed animals; the storage drawers between the beds on the bottom are nice for smaller items. The frame itself seems relatively sturdy and will do the job for my 6 and 8 year old great grandchildren I believe. What I was not happy with was being uninformed about a couple of things. I contracted for the "assembly service". I was unaware that delivery of the bed was not allowed to be brought indoors. I am older and can't lift these packages so it was quite a problem getting them in and then into the room. I expected a delivery to be brought into the room the beds were going into. Also, I did not expect that not only would the delivery be separate from assembly but that assembly did not include the movement. Wayfair told me to move the boxes into the room, open and inspect myself. I would have hired a more full service if that was the case. However, the person who did the assembly was great - did a very thorough job, personable, willing to help, professional and prompt. Ashely was awesome. After using almost 2 months, I must say the screws keep falling out. Also, I noticed it says I received something for my review but I don't know what that was supposed to be. This product is really nice! Everything seems really sturdy and all the wood pieces fit nicely together, except for one stairs bar which won’t tighten fully and therefore is a little wobbly (I’ll be contacting the seller to hopefully get a replacement piece.) This bed is so beautifully made! It was defiantly a two person build! Instructions were clear to understand for the most part, the only advice Id give is to number the hardware cause Im not much of a builder an a lot of them looked the same.
