The drain valve attaches to a garden hose so you can drain the water away from the pool. Hook the surface skimmer over the wall of the pool, right near its suction inlet. Right after it attaches to the filter pump it will start cleaning away. It has an adjustable mounting bracket so it can moved to be match the pool surface's water line. Empty the skimmer when it gets full and clean as needed. The skimmer is made of corrosion-proof material, so it can handle even the toughest pool chemicals.

I bought the Bestway Steel Pro MAX 14x48 pool this summer and I’m honestly super happy with it. The setup was easier than I expected — took about an hour with two people, and the frame clicks together smoothly without tools. The steel feels strong and stable, and the liner is thick and durable (way better than the inflatable pools I’ve had before). The pool is the perfect size for my family — roomy enough for a few adults to float around and still have space for the kids to play. The included filter pump works fine for regular use, though I might upgrade it later just to keep the water extra clean. Draining and covering it are both pretty simple, and I love that it came with everything I needed — pump, ladder, and cover included. I actually use this pool for a garage shower base. I have an issue with my hip that keeps me from going upstairs right now. We made a square shower frame from pcv pipe and elbows, one inch wider than the pool. We added shower curtains and the pool fits perfectly inside. We already had hot and cold water and added a little pump, that pumps the water outside and a little bench. It’s actually a great shower. I worked hard coming up with a solution, this was the only square pool I found, it’s perfect. The cover works like it should. It warms the water in the pool and I especially like the drain holes. They help keep the cover from coming off when weighed down with rain water. The only complaint I have is in cord that tightens down to hold the cover on. It would do a better job in my opinion if that cord was elastic and would stretch.
